Qatar Fertilizer Company (QAFCO) has awarded a $60 million contract to construct a melamine plant and a urea plant revamp project to Qatar Engineering & Construction Company (Qcon).

The scope of the work that is to be executed at Mesaieed by Qcon includes construction of the new Melamine Plant and revamping of the existing Urea-1 plant and covers Civil engineering, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation installation activities of the QAFCO site.
